What is StraddleAI?
The big picture
๐Ÿค– An AI-powered NSE F&O signal agent
StraddleAI connects to Zerodha Kite every 15 minutes during market hours, fetches live option chain data for NIFTY/BANKNIFTY, runs it through Groq AI (Llama 3.1), and generates a complete options trading signal with exact strikes, entry price, stop loss, target, and rationale โ€” delivered to your phone via Telegram automatically.
What it does for you
Monitors the market every 15 min โ†’ Finds the best options opportunity โ†’ Tells you exactly what to buy/sell, at what price, where to stop, and why โ†’ You decide whether to execute.
What it does NOT do
It does not place orders automatically. You always execute on Kite manually. The agent is your analyst, not your trader.

Paper trading guide
Test before real money
What is paper trading?
Paper trading tracks signals as virtual trades โ€” no real money, no Kite execution needed. Every signal you generate is automatically logged with your entry price. At end of day (3:15 PM) all open paper trades auto-close. After 4 weeks you'll have clear data on the agent's real performance.
How to use it
Go to ๐Ÿ”ง Tools tab โ†’ scroll to Paper Trading โ†’ tap Enable
PAPER MODE pill appears in top bar โ€” purple
Generate any signal โ†’ it's automatically logged as a paper trade
Monitor virtual P&L, trade count, win rate in the Tools tab
Paper trades auto-close at 3:15 PM or when target/stop is hit
After 4 weeks โ€” check win rate โ†’ if >55% go live with real money
Recommended approach
Paper trade for at least 4 weeks before real money. Look for win rate above 55% and average R:R above 1.5. Track which strategies (Bull Spread, Iron Condor etc.) work best for your instrument.
๐Ÿ“ˆ
Charts & gauges
Understanding the visuals
๐Ÿ“Š Market Regime Gauges (3 dials)
IV Rank gauge โ€” shows how high current volatility is vs its 52-week range.
Green (<30%) = low IV โ†’ buy premium (buy calls/puts or debit spreads)
Amber (30โ€“60%) = medium IV โ†’ either strategy works
Red (>60%) = high IV โ†’ sell premium (iron condor, credit spreads)

PCR gauge โ€” Put-Call Ratio sentiment.
PCR > 1.2 = more puts than calls = bullish signal (institutions hedging)
PCR < 0.7 = more calls than puts = bearish signal

Pain Distance โ€” how far spot price is from Max Pain strike.
Near pain = spot likely to gravitate toward max pain
Far from pain = strong directional move underway
๐Ÿ“‰ OI Buildup Chart
Blue bars = Call OI (resistance levels) โ€” where sellers are positioned
Red bars = Put OI (support levels) โ€” where buyers are hedged
The strike with the longest blue bar = strongest resistance
The strike with the longest red bar = strongest support
โ—€ ATM = current at-the-money strike
๐Ÿ“ Expected Move Panel
Shows the price range the market is pricing in for the current expiry.
Calculated from the ATM straddle premium.
Upper / Lower bounds = where 68% probability of price ending up.
If spot is already near the upper bound โ€” don't initiate bullish trades.

Frequently asked questions
Common questions answered
Why am I not receiving Telegram signals? โ–ผ
Make sure Auto-Watch is ON (amber button on Scan tab). Also confirm you've sent /start to your Telegram bot. Check that TELEGRAM pill shows โœ“ in green. If GROQ shows โœ— โ€” the AI engine is down and signals won't generate.
Why does Holdings show "token expired"? โ–ผ
Kite access tokens expire daily at midnight. The auto-login cron runs every morning at 9:00 AM IST and refreshes it automatically. If you see this error after 9 AM โ€” the auto-login may have failed. Run `python3 kite_login.py` in SSH to manually refresh.
What does AVOID signal mean? โ–ผ
The AI has analyzed the market but determined there is no good setup right now โ€” either conflicting signals, very low confidence, or dangerous market conditions. No Telegram message is sent. Simply skip this cycle and wait for the next scan in 15 minutes.
How much capital do I need per trade? โ–ผ
For a Bull Call Spread on NIFTY (1 lot = 75 shares), typical net debit is โ‚น40โ€“80 per share. So capital needed = โ‚น40โ€“80 ร— 75 = โ‚น3,000โ€“6,000 per lot. Always check the Max Risk field in each signal โ€” that's your exact worst-case loss per lot.
Should I take every signal? โ–ผ
No. Use paper trading first to understand the agent's behavior. When going live, focus on signals with confidence above 65%, R:R above 1.5, and during calm market conditions (not during RBI/FOMC events). Check the Event Calendar in Tools tab before trading.
What happens if I don't close a position by 3:30 PM? โ–ผ
Paper trades auto-close at 3:15 PM. For real positions on Kite โ€” options positions automatically settle at expiry if not closed manually. For intraday MIS positions, Kite auto-squares off at 3:20 PM. Always close options positions before 3:15 PM to avoid unfavorable auto-square-off prices.
Can I use this for BANKNIFTY instead of NIFTY? โ–ผ
Yes โ€” on the Scan tab, change the Instrument dropdown from NIFTY to BANKNIFTY. Note that BANKNIFTY lot size is 30 (vs NIFTY's 75) and is more volatile. Start with NIFTY for paper trading as it's more predictable.
How do I know when to go live with real money? โ–ผ
After 4 weeks of paper trading, check: Win rate above 55%, Average R:R above 1.5, Consistent signals during normal market conditions, No major losses from single bad trades. Start with 1 lot real money alongside continued paper trading. Scale up gradually.
